Via Verona is a spacious café in Melbourne's High Street, Kew, whose owners wanted a refurbishment to give the space a more traditional Italian feel.Working in conjunction with DesignCon Shopfitting, studio equator designed the 3D concept and all FFE (furnishings, fittings and equipment) for both the indoor and outdoor areas.
Our comprehensive design used wallpaper, feature lights and aged mirror to create an interesting focal point and to create the illusion of more space.
Various specialty tiles were used throughout the space on floors, walls and countertops, and were also used on the tabletops in the outdoor area to tie in the two spaces.
The automatic retractable roof is completely weatherproof and ensures that the courtyard can be used in any weather. This addition has effectively doubled the venue's seating capacity.
The sophisticated warmth of the interior palette, and the functional and cohesive outdoor area has given Via Verona a more café / restaurant feel which has proven to be extremely popular in Kew.
The new space has been so popular in fact, that the owners now have plans to open a new restaurant in another location nearby.
