Best website 2007 - AAAA Media and Marketing awards
Pedders is a multi-national automotive franchise that has today been operating for over 60 years. The fact that they develop, manufacture, distribute and install their own product through their own retail chain makes them unique worldwide, and studio equator wanted our website design to reflect this comprehensiveness.
Pedders requested that we develop the number one website for the automotive industry, and happily, we were ultimately able to achieve this with a design that is functional, educational and a strong tool for cross-promotion. Simple clean graphics were chosen with line detail work to showcase the enormous amount of content housed by the website, without becoming cluttered or overwhelmed.
Another goal was to have the website match the technologically advanced nature of the business, however still be user friendly and attractive to the whole population, not just automotive minded men.
studio equator used Vector illustration, photography and flash animation to create a stylised video demonstrating the process of the Pedders 28 point suspension safety check, a major facet of the Pedders business. This resulted in an animation that is not only interesting and informative, but also a strong marketing tool.
A custom content management system (CMS) was created for the management of all content across the site, including both standard and specialised content which makes the site easily updateable by in-house staff. The CMS allows for image, video and text entries to be published in sections including employment, news and events, trade news, product catalogue, store locator, trade portal, competitions and technical library. A global site search using the Yahoo search engine was also developed.
The Trade portal was developed to assist Pedders in increasing their client database via the use of competitions, allowing for growth of online communication and marketing, and for increased interaction with existing clients.
Pedders has been launching regular high profile nation-wide competitions since 2009, with prizes like V8 Supercar holidays and the XXXX Gold Audi course car. The success of these campaigns has allowed us to continue developing smart online tools to continue the growth of their online marketing strategy.
A technical library was developed for Pedders to house highly detailed content on the entire product range, and the relationships between each of the products. The library has a separate search engine that allows for searching of content in pdf files as well as standard site content.
The Pedders website won the award for best website at the AAAA Media and Marketing awards.
