MIMCO HORSE HEAD SCULPTURES
Mimco approached Studio Equator looking for someone to design and construct wearable horse head sculptures for the launch of their 2012 Spring Racewear Collection: "An Affair to Remember".
The sculptures were to be worn by two male models over a two-day event, so by necessity needed to be sturdy enough to hold up to the event, and designed cleverly enough to be stable and remain in place.
They also needed to allow the model’s faces to show, as they would be serving drinks and conversing with guests.
Studio Equator collaborated with artist Claudio Mantuano to create two beautiful horse heads out of watercolour paper. The sculptures were then spray-painted black by Mimco staff before featuring in the weekend event.
The event was held at Mimco's boutique in Chadstone Shopping Centre, and also included an indoor garden, floral installation, candy buffet and Kevin Murphy pamper stations.
