Khazana Indian Restaurant commissioned studio equator to assist in their relocation to a different tenancy within AMP's Knox City shopping centre. With an already established client base, owners Mr. & Mrs. Ali wanted the new tenancy to be a fresh improvement on the original premises, whilst still retaining their previous identity.
Following a Bollywood glamour theme, old Bollywood movie posters were composed into a collage and applied to the walls as wallpaper. Warm orange and earthy red colours and timber finishes along with Lotus pendant and Sphere pendant lights from Dido Designs by Caroline Mansouri were used to complement this theme. An illustration of a dancing Indian girl with henna-pattern detail was made on large format red vinyl sticker and applied to the two-storey glass shopfront.
The kitchen was designed to cater for both upstairs function room and downstairs dining room and bar areas and its hight functionality was further improved by the addition of a food service elevator to connect the upstairs area to the kitchen.
