G-Lux

G-Lux is an importer and wholesaler of porcelain, marble and other natural stone products and tiles, whose ethos is 'guaranteed luxury'.

An existing client, G-Lux approached Studio Equator to design a showroom with the aim of growing their business, maximising profit and increasing brand awareness, however after first conducting a design audit Studio Equator realised that the majority of G-Lux's income comes from architects, designers and developers.

The design audit results concluded that creating a highly functional website with time-saving tools would be more cost-effective than opening a showroom, and would result in a higher return on design investment.

Studio Equator recommended a complete re-design of the G-Lux website including new programming and CMS functionality as well as a simple, exciting and responsive front end design to reinforce the brand's customer service promise.

The new website has strong, focused, ongoing communication to build customer confidence and a simple design portal to highlight and easily manage G-Lux’s fast growing collections. There is also a projects page to showcase their portfolio of work.

Focus groups with our target market of Architects and designers helped determine that smart web tools would be a crucial part of the website’s success.

The request a sample tool and create a moodboard tool are both highly functional tools based on a shopping cart concept, and are integrated into every product page to make life easier for Architects and Designers, and to allow for a more responsive approach by the G-Lux sales team.

The colour chart tool gives customers the opportunity to search products by colour as well as the traditional methods of by product type, range or by finish.   There is also an inspirational colour play tool, which showcases existing projects in your chosen colour palette, allowing you to view various options in context.

The products in each of the sections and tools all link back to the individual product pages which give technical details about the products, and allow for a PDF download of information.

The design of the website is clean and in line with the G-Lux corporate ID. There is also a blog to promote ongoing communication and social network activation through Facebook, Twitter and other social media portals.

The completed website reflects G-Lux's market position as a leading creative business partner to builders, developers and designers and architects.

Packaging and brochures were also developed to mirror the findings and recommendations un-earthed in the design audit and business case for design report done by Studio Equator.

Previous to this, Studio Equator designed a visual identity and logo using a graphic tiling concept with different sized diamond shapes, giving an aesthetically beautiful sparkling effect, which is easily adaptable to different applications including business cards, packaging, general stationery and multimedia.
