Futureye is a management consulting firm specialising in public affairs and social licence to operate. The company was established in 2002 to assist companies and organisations dealing with public concerns about their operations and is now one of Australia’s leading management consultancies.
In designing the reception area for Futureye, Studio Equator designed a space that is clean, minimal and earthy.
We designed a custom reception desk using beautiful raw timber as a main feature. In order to achieve a real sense of nature, one corner of the desk is designed to hold a pot plant, and we specified a rustic plant that trails over the corner of the desk.
Custom cavities within the desk were designed to ensure no cords or cabling is visible in the area, and the front panel of the desk is black mirror, emulating the still waters of a deep pond.
Futureye’s logo features a range of characters with very different eyes dancing together and forming a circle, which is representative of diverse viewpoints, cultures and communities.
Rather than use the entire logo, we took one section of it and enlarged it to cover a large section of the back wall. Custom panels were powder coated in white and perforated with the shapes of the logo characters.
This wall is back-lit to give a vibrant and interesting backdrop that integrates well with the overall fit out design.
