The owner of an existing dry cleaning business with various outlets in the South Eastern suburbs approached Studio Equator to design the fit out for their newest location, which was to be in the new section of the Westfield Shopping Centre at Fountain Gate.
Studio Equator developed and designed the new store from scratch, in line with Westfield's guidelines for the new section for the centre and the client's request to create a simple yet strong brand proposition, which was for the first time to also include formal wear hire.
The strategy was simple and was to create a sophisticated yet accessible retail experience that included quirky elements like coat hanger curtains and custom made pendants.
The pendants were inspired by the new custom logo also designed by Studio Equator.
A minimal colour pallet was chosen which included black, blonde timbers and turquoise colour to add a level of sophistication and elegance that has not been experienced in the dry cleaning industry in the South Eastern suburbs.
This message was reinforced through a bold window display with a backdrop of a custom curtain / wall made from coat hangers. The result is a blend of formal wear elegance and dry cleaning convenience in a creative and memorable customer experience.
