AJAR is the name behind the Collingwood-based design team who curate, import and custom design products for spaces and import beautiful Spanish furniture, joinery, lighting and homewares to the Australian public. AJAR hold a collection of 15 brands, 80 per cent of which are new to Australian shores.  Each brand is emphatically contemporary and original in design – suited to both commercial and residential applications.

Directors Andrew Boddington, Josep Vallhonrat, Richard Fanale, joined forces in 2012 to launch the niche business. The design trio has an impressive pedigree in design - garnered locally and internationally – making a formidable sales team. All three have worked for high-end architectural firms, and from their experience and their shared passion for Spanish design, AJAR was created to share their influences with us.

AJAR’s point of difference is their strong connections with over 150 different international designers who contribute to the brands products and furniture. AJAR have made themselves one-of-a-kind to the Australian industry with their taste in luxury European design, products and furniture that Australia has never seen before. From the indoor lounge setting to the outdoor entertainment area, AJAR take pride in supplying, importing and designing elegant European finished furniture.

AJAR invited Studio Equator to extend their physical shop floor in Collingwood to an online presence. AJAR’s website works as an online catalogue servicing their customers and the market, delivering details on their total current stock.

With this in mind, Studio Equator developed a fluid EDM (Electronic Direct Marketing) strategy, including monitoring, review and detailed reporting of statistics and readership results after each quarterly edition. The website is a streamline content managing system where the business can directly manage email marketing, database and content control.

The website is built with a very complex backend, with specific action to help customers filter their search to find products quicker and easier. Furthermore, the website works on a responsive design being able to adapt to various screens. It was very important the website was easy to function and simple for their customers to utilise wherever they were.

Studio Equator were chosen to help re-create, manage and re-position the brand engaging the creative design and visual front end of the website as well as focusing on the strategy and back end functionality.
