BD Barcelona Design is a design heavyweight of significant repute. The Spanish company was founded in 1972, in a Barcelona brimming with creativity following four decades of Franco’s repressive dictatorship, and has sold furniture and design objects from the likes of icons Gaudì and Dalí, through to future-icons like the irrepressible Jaime Hayón. To say they know a thing or two about design would be an unforgivable understatement.

Now focussing on their own production, BD have unveiled this delightfully minimal new warehouse space at 22@Barcelona – a mammoth new regeneration of industrial land. The dark, contemplative space is an ideal backdrop for BD’s deeply conceptual pieces and – as the name suggests – is as much high-end gallery space as it is shop.
