3D-printed dress for Dita Von Teese

Francis Bitonti Studio Collaborated with New York designer Michael Schmidt and Shapeways to create a 3D-printed dress for burlesque dancer Dita Von Teese. The gown has nearly 3000 unique articulated joints and is adorned with over 12,000 Swarovski crystals. The floor-length nylon gown was made using selective laser sintering (SLS), where material is built up in layers from plastic powder fused together with a laser. It was unveiled during an event at the Ace Hotel in New York earlier this week.
